Baraa Ben Boubaker, the creator of the eponymous brand, hails from Kelibia and resides in the heart of the French Riviera. Inspired by the laid-back atmosphere of the French Riviera and the summer lightness of the Mediterranean, her creativity draws from the scents of souks, fluid shapes, and volumes of traditional Tunisian clothing. For over twenty years, Baraa has supported local artisans, working to advance Tunisian Hayek weaving, incorporating wool and linen, using traditional weavings for soft and gentle textures, reviving natural dyes, and creating designs that allow all silhouettes to move freely, embracing the Mediterranean lifestyle with elegance, sensuality, and ease. Quickly gaining recognition in international salons and exhibitions, such as the prestigious “Maisons et Objet” in Paris, Baraa positioned itself as high-end and attracted luxury customers.In 2010, her pioneering approach to sustainable and ethical fashion earned her the title of the first Tunisian laureate at the Maison Méditerranéenne de la Mode competition in Marseille. In 2011, Baraa™ caught the eye of Mrs. Leila Menchari, exclusive advisor to HERMES, leading to her products being showcased at the renowned “24 Faubourg Saint Honoré » boutique. The same year, avant-garde concept store buyers in Japan showed interest in baraa™ collections, leading to exclusive collaborations with “Galerie Vie – Tomorrowland” from 2014 onwards. Success continued, with Baraa being distributed in ABC New York, Geneva, Paris, Nice, Monaco, and more.
